It chemically bonds to your clear coat and cures into a layer roughly ten times harder than wax, rated for 3 years of protection at 9H hardness. 1-Step correction is a single pass with a polish that levels out that haze and light swirling — enough to bring back real clarity and depth without an aggressive cut. 2-Step Medium goes a stage further for paint that's picked up more — visible swirls in daylight, the beginnings of oxidation on horizontal panels like the hood and roof.
The point of doing this now, before it gets worse: correcting light damage today is a lot less clear coat removal than correcting the same car five years from now. Every correction takes a small, controlled amount of clear coat with it — the earlier you catch it, the less you ever have to take.
