Brake dust, rail dust, industrial fallout, tree sap, and mineral deposits from hard water don't wash off — they bond to the clear coat. A wash moves dirt around; it doesn't remove what's actually stuck to the paint. Decon strips all of it back to bare clear coat, then seals that clean surface so contaminants have a harder time bonding again.
This is a required first step before any correction or ceramic work — you can't correct or coat over paint that's still contaminated. It's also a standalone service for anyone who just wants their paint genuinely clean, not polished.
